As a consultant, Akil has worked with law firms, universities and, through an educational consultancy group, European bodies to create systemic changes within education, workplace culture and race equality. Through co-founding a university society, chairing a not for profit, training as a lawyer and organising community groups, he has developed a range of skills that he can use to consult your organisation to improve its operations, strategy and governance.

As an emerging spoken word poet, Akil speaks about his experiences growing up in inner city London, overcoming challenges in his personal and professional development, his experiences navigating the legal industry as well as his perception on global socio-economic issues within marginalised, less privileged communities. His style of poetry is influenced by his upbringing, where he enjoyed rap, r&b, soul, reggae, classical, jazz and contemporary hip hop.
